Project Kuiperという、この言葉だけ見ると個人的には馴染みのないものですが、「衛星」という言葉が見えたので何だろうと調べてみたらビックリしました。

Project Kuiperってそもそも何？

え・・衛星通信でインターネットに繋がる？

スターリンクみたいなものでしょうか？

下記を見ると、2023年10月6日に最初の2基のプロトタイプ衛星を打ち上げたそうですね。

re:Invent 2023で何が発表された？

下記に詳しいですが、衛星を経由してAWSにプライベートネットワーク接続ができるようになるようです。

宇宙も使ってサービスを展開していく、というだけでそもそも凄いですが、今まで通信環境の提供が難しかった場所でも安全で高品質なクラウドを利用できるように進化していくというのはすごいですね・・！
